Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Northwestern Medicine. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in our radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order and manage exams in our hospital information system (HIS/RIS) to ensure accurate tracking and charging.
  • Position and immobilize patients on examining tables to ensure safe and comfortable imaging procedures.
  • Enter data and select proper imaging techniques to produce high-quality radiographs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • View images on video display screens to ensure quality and produce radiographs as needed.
  • Obtain "wet readings" from radiologists and assist in the reception area as needed.
  • Burn CDs and produce film copies when requested, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Receive and review orders, prioritize urgent exams, and replenish supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) registration.
  • 2-3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent.
  • Thorough working knowledge of radiology practices and procedures.
  • 1 year or less of related work experience, demonstrating familiarity with routines and procedures customary to the position.
