Industrial Laundry Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Laundry Mechanic to join our team at WNC LAUNDRY LLC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial textile processing equipment and facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, service, and repair all models of commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, boilers, extractors, presses, stackers, and other machinery.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues, and rebuild pumps, valves, regulators as needed.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and service water treatment plant machinery and equipment, including pumps, valves, valve actuators, motors, engines, meters, drives, tanks, reservoirs, compressors, chemical feed and storage systems, UV disinfection systems, heating and air conditioning systems, and other equipment typical of a water treatment facility.
- Install and rebuild pumps, motors, piping systems, and specialized water treatment equipment.
- Fabricate parts and equipment, operate welding, cutting, and general fabrication equipment.
- Pack, lubricate, clean, and paint mechanical equipment and motors.
- Inspect newly installed mechanical equipment to ensure safe and satisfactory operation and functionality.
- Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical operation and repair manuals.
- Effectively participate in preventive maintenance schedules on all laundry equipment.
- Establish an organized laundry inventory system for purchasing of all parts and materials.
- Provide technical training to the laundry team.
- Maintain a constant awareness of safety problems and report unsafe conditions and exposures to laundry management.
- Must understand and adhere to all safety procedures.
- Effectively manage daily maintenance requests to minimize equipment downtime and continually improve operational processes.
- Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies, and procedures required by WNC LAUNDRY LLC, law, and industry standards.
- Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
- Interact with all colleagues in a professional manner.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in a laundry maintenance or similar operation.
- Must be able to maintain high levels of confidence.
- Maintain a working knowledge of policies and procedures and their proper application.
- Minimum of 5 years maintenance engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and boiler applications.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3-phase 230-volt systems.
- Must be a team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work well done; self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement.
- Quantifiable working knowledge of Weishi systems, dyers, folders, sorting, binding, etc. equipment preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to shift priorities and changing demands.
- OSHA compliance.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time; able to bend, stretch, reach, and stoop on a continual basis.
- Spanish speaking helpful.
High school graduate or equivalency. Bachelor's degree preferred. Some locations may require relevant certifications, a boiler license, or PLC programming.
Physical and Environmental ConditionsInside and outside areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, noise, odors, humidity, lint, and dust. Water treatment plant and field environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, potentially hazardous chemicals, electrical energy, and inclement weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and/or humid conditions; work around water; work on slippery, uneven surfaces; work in confined spaces; routinely climb ladders, stairs; regularly work near moving mechanical parts; and work around moderately loud noise levels.
Incumbents must be available to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
