We are seeking a dedicated Press Assistant to contribute to our operations. The Press Assistant is tasked with assisting in the setup and support of printing presses, ensuring adherence to printing specifications and fulfilling customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations
  • Achieve and maintain defined job objectives related to job planning and execution
  • Assist in external make-ready operations in preparation for job changeovers
  • Support external cleanup activities post-changeover
  • Maintain cleanliness of ink pans and related equipment
  • Remove plates from cylinders as needed
  • Manage the location of dies to and from the press
  • Collaborate with the press operator to inspect labels using a strobe light
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by the customer and MCC
  • Complete quality assurance documentation as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace
  • Be available for overtime work as required
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a print shop is advantageous, but not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Proficient in reading and understanding job tickets
  • Ability to accurately read a ruler and comprehend measurements
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 and ability to differentiate colors
  • Competent in data entry on a computer
  • Capable of thriving in a team-oriented environment with a strong sense of urgency for timely task completion
  • Self-driven with the ability to maintain focus and follow directions
  • Physical ability to stand and move around the press area for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Assertive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced setting
