Our Engineering and Installation Department excels in Design Build Applications, handling projects ranging from simple to highly complex systems, including air conditioning, heating, piping, and process systems tailored to meet specific requirements.

We are authorized dealers for all major brands of HVAC Equipment, including Process and Comfort Chillers. Our expertise also encompasses control systems, Building Automation, Process Chillers, and Cooling Towers, particularly for the Plastics Industry, along with specialized equipment such as Desiccant Dehumidifiers for the Food, Pharmaceutical, and Process Industries, Humidification Systems, and Data Center Cooling Equipment.

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing all financial operations within PDM Group. This role entails ensuring accurate and timely financial management across the organization, encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, budgeting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a robust financial background to support the growth and profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and enforcing internal control policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash management, credit management, and administrative functions.
  • Coordinating budgeting, procurement, investment activities, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely billing and adherence to credit terms for collections.
  • Overseeing accounts payable operations, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices and adherence to accounting periods.
  • Executing all aspects of month-end and year-end closing processes in compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Preparing financial packages, Work in Progress (WIP) reports, aging reports, risk analysis, and other financial documentation for leadership review.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and professional standards.
  • Facilitating effective communication with customers and vendors to resolve issues and ensure clarity.
  • Promoting a culture of ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Calculating commissions as applicable.
  • Assisting in the recruitment, development, and retention of skilled finance personnel as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting functions, including invoicing, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing effectively.
  • Proficient in translating accounting and financial information into layman's terms.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-5 years of experience in a role requiring an entrepreneurial mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in HVACR or construction, including AIA and Cost Accounting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to foster team development and collaboration.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
