Job Title: Claims Manager

At Walmart, we are seeking a skilled Claims Manager to join our team. As a Claims Manager, you will be responsible for leading claim investigations, managing monetary aspects of assigned claims, and minimizing legal exposure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead claim investigations by conducting ongoing medical and legal reviews, commissioning field investigators, and synthesizing information from outside counsel.
  • Handle monetary aspects of assigned claims by establishing reserves, notifying store managers, and authorizing payment or facilitating denial of the claim.
  • Minimize legal exposure by securing services of outside legal counsel, attending arbitrations, and assessing the impact of claims on case law and precedent.
  • Manage moderately complex cases involving alleged bodily injury, personal injury, and property damage by interviewing key witnesses, securing evidence, and analyzing evidence.
  • Manage interpretation of medical reports and case information, reviewing records for preexisting conditions, and referencing applicable case law/statutes.
  • Negotiate with customers, their attorneys, or third parties to resolve claims by sharing investigative results and rationale.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, and mentoring.
Qualifications:
  • Insurance Adjuster license or willingness to obtain within 30 days of job entry date.
