Shriners Hospitals for Children - Philadelphia is recognized as a leading medical center specializing in pediatric burn care, orthopaedics, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and various pediatric subspecialties.

We are seeking a full-time Pediatric Care Nurse (LPN) to become a vital part of our team.

**Responsibilities**

The Pediatric Care Nurse is responsible for delivering care to pediatric patients ranging from infants to 21 years of age. This role involves advocating for patients and their families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve quality outcomes through a family-centered care approach.

The nurse will perform professional nursing services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, adhering to the ethical standards and practices of nursing.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting routine and clinical tasks, gathering patient information, assisting with the removal of casts, and supporting minor outpatient procedures.
  • Measuring and recording vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Performing clerical duties such as correspondence, appointment notifications, copying, filing, and other assigned tasks.
  • Implementing nursing interventions in line with outpatient clinic standards and LPN practice guidelines.
  • Supporting the care plan to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assisting physicians and healthcare professionals with procedures and the intake and discharge processes, accurately documenting findings during the intake process.
  • Engaging in open, accurate, and timely communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to facilitate effective therapeutic interventions and continuity of care.
  • Initiating and participating in collaborative relationships to enhance patient care.
  • Demonstrating sensitivity, respect, tact, and diplomacy in all interactions, while listening to the ideas and opinions of others.
  • Exhibiting effective verbal communication, maintaining a positive and polite demeanor, and applying excellent telephone communication skills to ensure quality care.
  • Providing and receiving constructive feedback with a focus on positive outcomes.
  • Upholding the dignity and privacy of each patient and family, while being sensitive to diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding patient, hospital, and employee information.
**Qualifications**

**Licensure and Certification**

Valid LPN License in the state of practice is required.

BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days.
