Job Overview

As an Adjunct Instructor, you will play a vital role in teaching and mentoring students in the Chemistry department. This is a part-time, limited basis position, and your primary academic functions will include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars, utilizing your expertise in Chemistry to engage and educate students.
  • May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework, providing guidance and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of your responsibilities, including participating in departmental meetings and contributing to the development of curriculum.
  • Review and respond to all University-related communications in a timely manner, ensuring that you stay informed and up-to-date on departmental and institutional initiatives.
  • Other related duties as assigned, including participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching and mentoring skills.
Minimum Requirements

Academic degree in an appropriate discipline and prior teaching experience are required for this position. You must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.

Additionally, you should be able to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
