Position Classification: Hybrid - This role allows for a combination of onsite and remote work, scheduled weekly. Employees are typically onsite one (1) to four (4) days per week, based on departmental needs.

What Success Looks Like In This Role:

In collaboration with the Strategic Initiatives Administrator in the County Manager's Office, this position provides administrative, programmatic, and project support to various County departments. Responsibilities include strategy development, process improvement, change management, and project management. This role involves planning, executing, and overseeing specific programmatic responsibilities, analyzing practices, and recommending operational enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Initiatives Team to establish goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in formulating short and long-term strategic objectives for departments and the County.
  • Identify and analyze issues impacting County priorities and productivity.
  • Utilize change management methodologies to facilitate project adoption.
  • Apply project management techniques to ensure timely project completion.
  • Engage in special projects as directed by County leadership.
  • Conduct research and analyze data related to departmental operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of new or revised programs and procedures.
  • Manage various projects and maintain accurate records and statistics.
  • Develop evaluation tools to assess program effectiveness and compile reports.
  • Conduct analytical studies on departmental activities and assist in implementing changes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with change management principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Understanding of strategic planning processes and success measures.
  • Strong skills in administrative analysis and report preparation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws and regulations for County Government.
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and understanding group dynamics.
  • Knowledge of grant writing and management principles.
  • Proficient in various computer applications.
Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in local government or related fields.
  • Experience in process improvement projects.
  • Experience in developing organizational strategies.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Political Science, Public Affairs, or Engineering.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
