Role Responsibilities

The Solutions Architect will report directly to the Director of Cloud Architecture and collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement innovative solutions that address business challenges, enhance customer service, and leverage emerging technologies.

In this capacity, you will oversee the technology integration process and take on various responsibilities aimed at identifying and realizing innovative solutions that align with the overarching goals of iSeatz and its partners.

Your Contributions

• Work closely with the Director of Cloud Architecture to define and drive the company's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and a forward-thinking approach.
• Lead the conceptualization and execution of both new and existing technology initiatives, providing strategic insights to align with the company's long-term vision.
• Manage the architecture lifecycle from initial concept through design completion, ensuring alignment with iSeatz's strategic objectives, particularly regarding future scalability and adaptability.
• Establish and refine processes for ongoing updates to the architecture, ensuring it remains accurate and responsive to changes throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify and advocate for promising research and technology areas that address unmet needs, focusing on their potential for future solutions and contributing to the company's innovation strategy.
• Collaborate with technical teams to facilitate the transition of designs into operational status.
• Play a pivotal role in Architectural Review Board planning and meetings, steering discussions towards strategic goals and ensuring alignment with company-wide technology initiatives.
• Lead the development of proposed cost models, assessing the impact of innovation on existing and potential service offerings while aligning architectural decisions with cost-effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
• Govern architectural solutions, analyzing the impact of innovative approaches on existing services and proposing adjustments to enhance overall efficiency.
• Evaluate the progress of architectural designs and adjust the pace or direction of new projects as necessary.
• Encourage collaboration with other technical teams, the Customer Success Team, and clients by actively listening to their concerns and needs, conducting research to propose more cost-effective and efficient solutions.
• Monitor the technology landscape for new or evolving solutions that can enhance our product offerings.
• Ensure effective roadmaps for new solutions that align with the company's strategic vision and avoid stranded investments.

Qualifications

• A minimum of ten years of professional experience in leading IT architecture solutions.
• In-depth knowledge and expertise in major AWS technologies such as S3, SQS, SNS, EC2, API Gateway, and Lambda.
• Experience with serverless technology deployment and architecture.
• Familiarity with ECS, EKS/Kubernetes, and related deployment services.
• Proficient in CDK/CloudFormation.
• Strong working knowledge of various programming languages and paradigms, including Ruby, Java, and JavaScript/TypeScript; functional development experience is a plus.
• Good understanding of React and related technical stacks for single-page application development.
• Expertise in REST API design.
• Experience in asynchronous and event-driven architecture design and deployment.
• Knowledge of messaging systems and their use cases.
• Comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle, focusing on developer productivity and satisfaction.
• Experience with SQL and RDBMS technologies.
• Familiarity with major authentication and authorization technology stacks (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID) and their appropriate applications.
• Experience in designing and implementing SSO solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant experience in the travel technology and loyalty sector.
• Experience with AWS CI/CD technologies.
• Experience in designing ETL solutions.
• Experience in large-scale database migration strategies and implementations.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or Snowflake.
• Experience with legacy integrations (SOAP v1/v2, XML over HTTP, etc.).
• DynamoDB data modeling experience.
