Job Summary

The Department of the Air Force - Agency Wide is seeking a highly skilled Medical Officer to join our team. As a Medical Officer, you will play a critical role in providing medical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of military and retired personnel and their dependents, as well as selected civilian service personnel in one or more fields of medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary care management to patients, including medical examination, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Perform diagnostic, preventive, or therapeutic services to patients in hospitals, clinics, public health programs, diagnostic centers, and occupational health programs.
  • Research and experimental work in causes, methods, or prevention and control, and methods of treatment of disease and other health conditions.
  • Evaluate disability and rating of claims for compensation or pension.
  • Advise on, administer, supervise, or perform professional and scientific work.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada. You must also have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, such as a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training. Additionally, you must have knowledge of the principles of the specialization being filled, including clinical, preventive medicine, including aviation medicine, occupational medicine, and public health.
