About the Role

Selective Insurance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced software engineer to join our team. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex systems across multiple technical stacks.

You will work closely with architects and product teams to drive technical strategy and align the release train with solution design. Your expertise in software engineering, leadership, and creativity will be essential in driving innovation and growth within the company.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of C#, client-side frameworks, .Net, REST APIs, package management, DevOps, service integration, UML modeling, SQL Server, and modern development patterns. Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work directly with various stakeholders across IT and product teams are also essential.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement complex systems across multiple technical stacks
  • Work closely with architects and product teams to drive technical strategy and align the release train with solution design
  • Act as a technical leader, guiding and mentoring less experienced engineers
  • Develop and deliver complex systems as a thought leader and expert in full-stack development
  • Establish system non-functional requirements and drive work that meets needs, including performance, tuning, and quality enhancements
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex system issues, performance issues, and infrastructure issues
Qualifications
  • College degree in a related field or work equivalent
  • Mastery in software engineering and supporting enterprise web applications and full-stack development
  • Deep understanding of C#, client-side frameworks, .Net, REST APIs, package management, DevOps, service integration, UML modeling, SQL Server, and modern development patterns
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work directly with various stakeholders across IT and product teams
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology, processes, business models, and user behaviors
What We Offer

Selective Insurance offers a competitive salary range of $131,600 - $188,000, based on geographic location and qualifications. We also offer comprehensive total rewards packages, including health benefits, retirement savings, and professional development opportunities.
