Job Overview

Position Summary

The Plumbing Technician will respond to and resolve plumbing emergencies, conduct routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems, and perform light construction tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, water fountains, and heaters.
  2. Maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers in leaky faucets, repairing burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
  3. Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems, adhering to specifications and plumbing codes.
  4. Review building plans and working drawings to determine necessary tools and installation sequences.
  5. Utilize hand and power tools to assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made from various materials.
  6. Cut openings in walls and floors to fit pipes and fittings, using appropriate tools.
  7. Demonstrate familiarity with materials such as PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
  8. Respond to plumbing emergencies promptly and effectively.
  9. Arrive punctually and prepared for the assigned work schedule.
  10. Perform light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.
  11. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and maintain detailed reports of work performed.
  12. Exhibit proficiency in English, both oral and written.
  13. Participate in all scheduled meetings.
  14. Accept and execute special assignments from supervisors.
  15. Read and adhere to safety labels, warnings, and guidelines.
  16. Possess knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
  17. Maintain attention to detail and remain vigilant to ensure safety.
  18. Demonstrate the ability to complete projects independently.
  19. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a focus on detail.
  20. Represent Tresco, Inc. and its services professionally at all times.
Additional Responsibilities Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Maintain a current Journeyman Plumbers License issued in New Mexico.
  2. Assist the public as needed.
  3. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  4. Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  5. Adapt to a complex and rapidly changing work environment.
  6. Exhibit strong critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Must possess a Journeyman Plumbers License issued in New Mexico and have at least five years of plumbing experience.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in plumbing.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license required.

Compensation: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

Additional Information: Candidates must undergo a driver's license record check and pass a background check.
