Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs basic patient care activities in the Emergency Department at Memorial Medical Center. This role requires a high school graduate or equivalent, with no prior experience necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care activities, including vital sign measurements and documentation
  • Assist with patient transfers and mobility
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • No prior experience required
  • State-issued Nursing Assistant Certification or completion of a Medical/Surgical semester from a school of nursing program
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Documentation of current State-issued Nursing Assistant Certification or completion of Medical/Surgical semester from a school of nursing program
  • Licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician or documentation of a current State-issued Emergency Medical Technician License
  • Documentation of having worked as a Military Medic/Healthcare Specialist (DD214) or similar military-issued document
  • Documentation of having successfully completed a Patient Care Technician Program and hold a current Patient Care Tech National Certification (NHA, NCCT or NHCWA)
