About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Care Coordinator to join our team at Damar Services, Inc. As a Medical Care Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery of medical services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate appointments with campus staff and external providers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of medical services.
  • Complete monthly quality data in a timely and efficient manner to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Complete medical prior authorizations for Damar residential clients, obtaining necessary medical documentation for approval and following up with providers and nursing with status updates.
  • Document appointment updates in the electronic medical record as appropriate.
  • Coordinate medical needs with the nursing department and medical providers, including immunization needs, appointment updates, and prior authorization status.
  • Ensure medication room and cart are organized to meet best practice health standards.
  • Track and schedule appointments with external providers, including psych, dental, vision, lab, and imaging.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21 depending on program and/or department requirements.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical required.
Physical Demands

The primary functions of this role require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist, to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs), to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation, and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction and to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
