Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Athletic Communications Assistant to join our team at the Perelman School of Medicine University of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating media relations, game-day activities, and statistical support for our varsity sports teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate media requests, including setting up parking and credentials for games and events
  • Handle in-game stats and coordinate post-game interviews between on-site media and Penn players/coaches and visiting players/coaches
  • Oversee all elements of the Penn website, PennAthletics.com, related to teams, including game previews/recaps, roster/schedule management, and features for video
  • Manage social media accounts for Penn Athletics, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Travel with teams as necessary, including postseason events
  • Provide statistical support for teams, including handling all statistics and properly archiving and publishing them
  • Support outside departmental needs, including coordinating with marketing and graphic design to promote ticket events and student outreach
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Good written, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Ability to learn stat programs
  • Time management skills essential
  • Compliance with all Ivy League/NCAA rules and regulations required
  • Valid driver's license required
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $7.25 - $15.00, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position.
