Job Summary

The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Athletic Communications Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Division of Recreation & Intercollegiate Athletics, this individual will be responsible for managing media relations, social media presence, and game-day activities for our varsity sports teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Media Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for external publicity for assigned programs, coordinating media-related responsibilities such as interviews and website management.
  • Social Media Management: Develop and implement social media strategies to engage with fans, promote our teams, and provide timely updates on game-day activities.
  • Game-Day Activities: Manage media requests, in-game stats, and post-game interviews for specific sports, ensuring seamless communication with coaches, players, and other stakeholders.
  • Statistical Support: Handle all statistics for assigned sports, ensuring accurate and timely publication, and maintaining proper archiving procedures.
  • Departmental Support: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote ticket events, graphic design promotion, and media coverage for Athletics-related activities.
  • Travel: Accompany sports teams during postseason or other necessary travel, providing support and assistance as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Skills: Excellent written, interpersonal, and computer skills; strong time management and multitasking abilities; and compliance with all Ivy League/NCAA regulations.

Working Conditions

This is a hourly paid position with a pay range of $7.25 - $15.00. Salary offers are based on qualifications, experience, and market factors.
