Role Overview: As a Lead Control Systems Engineer, you will be entrusted with the planning and design of critical components of a control system, working with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of sophisticated, technology-driven, and sensitive computerized automated control systems.
You will collaborate as a team member on projects under the guidance of a Project Manager and potentially a Senior Control Systems Analyst.
Specific Duties:
1) Oversee the planning and design of significant portions of a control system with minimal supervision.
2) Collaborate with the project team to define the project scope, including how the control system should function, the necessary reports/documentation, the screens/graphics, and the type of startup support required.
3) Possess advanced knowledge in programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of a control system, which may involve programming various components of the control system.
4) Maintain foundational knowledge in the areas listed below, with expert proficiency in two of the four advanced programming domains:
- a) PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
- b) Hardware configuration and/or HMI (Human Machine Interface)
- c) PC Setup
- d) Database Management
5) Uphold confidentiality regarding potentially sensitive client information.
6) Be available for after-hours support and possible on-call duties.
7) Configure, install, and troubleshoot PC/PLC hardware and software, along with customer networks.
8) Capable of independently installing and initiating a control system at a client's site.
9) Conduct in-house and on-site training for customer operators on the control system.
10) Responsible for establishing programming standards and ensuring adherence to them.
11) May assist in training other team members within the department.
12) Engage in technical design, code reviews, and assist in project pricing estimations.
13) Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or an Associate's Degree in a technology discipline.
- Experience in programming within the Industrial Environment, implementing Industrial Control Software (Startup), and interacting with clients regarding system requirements.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Control Systems Developer, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To comply with certain state regulations, the annual base salary range for this position has been provided. This range is broad and should be viewed as a guideline only. The organization will consider a candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, the salaries of current employees in similar roles, and other factors when extending an offer.
