Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Commodity Procurement Specialist to join our team at GPAC. As a specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of dairy and whey ingredients to support our expanding product lines.

Salary and Benefits:

This salaried position offers a competitive compensation package of $100,000 - $150,000 per year, along with benefits including health insurance, 401K retirement plan, paid time off, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Negotiation: Source and negotiate contracts for dairy and whey ingredients, ensuring favorable pricing, quality, and availability.
  • Market Monitoring: Monitor market trends and manage commodity futures to mitigate price volatility and supply chain risks.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure timely procurement while minimizing excess stock.
  • Supply Chain Analysis: Analyze supply chain performance and identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Contract Management: Handle procurement contracts, renewals, and negotiations, ensuring compliance and alignment with company goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to ensure ingredient specifications meet product requirements.
  • Travel: Regularly travel for inventory checks, vendor meetings, and industry events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in commodity procurement, with a strong focus on dairy and whey products.
  • Proven experience with contract negotiations and managing commodity futures.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and inventory control.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build long-term vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time and priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with procurement software and data analysis tools is a plus.
