Job Description

Job Summary:

The laboratory of Dr. Kenneth Lee in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at the Penn State College of Medicine invites applications for a new NIH-funded Postdoctoral position to study mechanisms and regulation of membrane transport at structural and functional levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on membrane transport mechanisms and regulation
  • Develop and implement experimental designs to investigate membrane transport
  • Analyze and interpret data to understand membrane transport mechanisms
  • Collaborate with other researchers to advance knowledge in the field
  • Present research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in biochemistry, biophysics, neuroscience, molecular genetics, cell biology, chemistry or related fields
  • Strong background in membrane protein biochemistry, cell imaging, electrophysiology, single molecule biophysics, molecular dynamics, cryo-EM/ET or X-ray crystallography
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
