Job Title: Health Information Specialist II

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Specialist II to join our team at Ciox Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing medical record requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Process medical record requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, insurance companies, and attorneys, responding to requests for medical status and other information.
  • Document information in multiple platforms using two computer monitors, maintaining confidentiality and security of privileged information.
  • Stay up-to-date with company and facility policies and procedures, adhering to the Company's and Customer facilities Code of Conduct and policies.
  • Assist with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required, including training new hires and generating reports for managers or facilities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-year Health Information related experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Detail and quality-oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records.
  • Strong data entry skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous production/metric-based work experience.
  • In-person customer service experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Work is generally performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach horizontally and vertically for overhead use, and use a telephone or headset equipment. Incumbent must be able to lift 20 lbs., perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day, and function in an environment with constant interruptions.
