Service Corporation International is seeking a skilled Transfer Specialist to join our team. As a Transfer Specialist, you will be responsible for the safe and respectful transportation of deceased individuals to funeral homes, cemeteries, and other designated locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Removal and Transportation
    • Safely transport deceased individuals in company-owned vehicles, adhering to local and state laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate records of transportation, including chain-of-custody and paperwork.
    • Cooperate with first responders, coroners, hospital staff, and senior living facility staff to ensure smooth transportation processes.
    • Interact with bereaved family members in a professional and sensitive manner, minimizing conversation and maintaining a warm and courteous first impression.
  • Vehicle Maintenance
    • Ensure company vehicles are presentable and well-maintained, including washing, vacuuming, and cleaning.
    • Fuel vehicles as necessary and follow safety guidelines and expenditure processes.
    • Maintain personal protective and removal supplies in vehicles, including cleaning products.
    • Identify and report any vehicle engine or operating issues to management.
  • Requirements
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Current state/province issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
    • At least one (1) year of work experience as a courier or driver, with direct customer interaction preferred.
    • Ability to work a schedule that supports business needs, including weekends and nights.
    • Ability to work on-call weekends, nights, and holidays rotation.
    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
    • Ability to drive in hazardous, heavy traffic, and weather conditions.
    • Basic computer skills required.
