Job Title: Engineer III

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineer III to join our team in the Transportation Construction Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing engineering and construction contracting work for the Transportation Construction Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction and engineering contracts for site or utility construction
  • Develop and prepare construction specifications
  • Manage contracts for professional services
  • Perform project financial and budgetary planning, tracking, and reporting at the project level
  • Ensure compliance with VDOT permitting requirements
  • Closing permits and resolving punch list items

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architectural field
  • Three years of progressively responsible professional experience in the appropriate engineering or architectural field
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of experience preparing, procuring, administering, and managing construction and engineering contracts for site or utility construction
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing multiple capital projects in design and/or construction
  • Experience with project financial and budgetary planning, tracking, and reporting at the project level
  • At least three (3) years of experience in VDOT and other regulatory permitting and project closeout
