Position Overview:

Your role will involve designing and executing projects aimed at addressing catastrophe risk challenges faced by the business.

Compensation Details:
Salary Range: $109,000 - $186,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and refine the framework for utilizing catastrophe risk management software, focusing on data entry, model configuration, execution, result analysis, and loss assessment.
  • Engage with business partners to ascertain their requirements and propose strategic initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards that deliver insights into the growth of catastrophe exposure, leveraging outputs from catastrophe models.
  • Utilize portfolio and underwriting tools to evaluate peril exposures beyond conventional catastrophe vendor models, including but not limited to wildfire, flood, and sinkhole.
  • Simplify complex catastrophe loss results for practical application in business contexts, including support for DOI filings.
  • Create analytical tools, reports, and datasets to comprehend the impact of natural disasters on the enterprise, employing various geospatial analysis techniques.
  • Lead the assessment of newer versions of catastrophe management software and models, while exploring industry best practices and strategies in earth science technologies.
  • Participate in selecting research tools and technologies, designing a standardized research process, and brainstorming innovative opportunities and methodologies related to earth science.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and business strategies, proactively introducing new and creative ideas to foster business development.
  • May be assigned additional tasks or projects based on expertise and accomplishments.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions and support.
  • Advanced proficiency in catastrophe management software and peril models.
  • Strong understanding of natural catastrophe risk and its relevance to the insurance sector and catastrophe modeling.
  • Solid foundation in earth science and property insurance to conduct complex financial, actuarial, or business analyses.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of geospatial software tools and data.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate clearly.
  • Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience handling large volumes of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex products and business lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and apply project management methodologies.
  • Experience in leading discussions with diverse team members.
