Network Deploy Technician

Canton, Mississippi, United States Amazon Full time
About the Role

Amazon is seeking a skilled Network Deploy Technician to support the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks. As a key member of our infrastructure operations team, you will work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

The position's responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day-to-day assistance with capacity management. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.

You will leverage your experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of AWS' vast network infrastructure, Network Deploy Technicians establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware

Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects

Work closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products

Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction

Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords

About the Team

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Network Deploy Technician who can work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You should have a strong understanding of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls. Additionally, you should have experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR, and power meters.
