Job Summary
POWER Engineers is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Power Delivery team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for substations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to design and develop electrical systems for substations.
- Support the development of departmental goals and foster internal teamwork.
- Perform detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations, including:
- One-line diagrams
- Schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- SCADA and Communications
- Station physical layouts
- Sections/Elevations
- Cable and conduit plans/details
- Ground grid design/details
- Foundation plans/details
- Structural plans/details
- Control enclosure design/details
- Lightning protection plans
- Yard lighting plans
- Bills of Materials
- Site visits
- Support QA/QC for client deliverables.
- Learn and adhere to client standards and processes.
- Work individually or in a team on complex designs.
- Travel occasionally.
Required Education/Experience
- BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) from an accredited university, preferably with a power option.
- Strong foundational knowledge of electrical engineering.
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Desired Education/Experience
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical utility substations and substation design.
