Position Summary: The Electrical Engineering Co-op role is designed to enhance engineering expertise across our product lines by analyzing customer needs and exploring manufacturing and assembly techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute design and development engineering tasks for various research and development projects or sales orders.
  • Specify system components or oversee modifications to ensure compliance with engineering design and performance standards.
  • Conduct research to evaluate the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
  • Develop and test models of alternative designs and processing methods to assess feasibility and operational impacts.
  • Review and enhance existing manuals and documentation, adding necessary supplemental materials.
  • Create precise and clear wiring diagrams.
  • Generate accurate bills of materials for new products and features.
  • Process machine and parts orders to ensure proper configuration of sold options.
  • Examine electrical designs for compliance with NFPA, NEC, ANSI, and other relevant standards.
  • Continuously assess component pricing to identify opportunities for cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
  • Implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Apply academic knowledge and skills in a practical industry setting.
  • Update PCB designs and related documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • Capable of performing all necessary tasks to complete projects or sales orders, including proficiency in 2D CAD.
  • Strong customer-focused approach.
  • Commitment to lean practices, emphasizing the elimination of waste and maximizing value for the end customer.
  • Ability to plan and think strategically over a two-year horizon.
