Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Automated NDE Field Service Technician to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our Specialty Services product area, you will be responsible for providing non-destructive testing services at power plant sites across the Americas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for and support field service jobs at power plants, focusing on visual, electrical, and mechanical testing using remote robotic inspection equipment.
  • Perform field inspections per Siemens requirements.
  • Travel to power plant sites to support customer power plant outage planning and production control.
  • Support the development of new and continuous improvement of existing specialty service applications and tooling.
  • Provide on-site and off-site technical and operational support for complex equipment and systems.
  • Communicate technology and inspection findings to global Siemens team members and internal and external customers.

Requirements:

  • NDE Training, Experience, and Certifications (UT, ET, PT, MT, VT).
  • Demonstrated mechanical, hands-on skills.
  • Demonstrated electrical/electronic, hands-on skills.
  • Self-Driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently and work well in groups.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
  • Innovative, creative, and willing to share and explore new ideas.
  • Ability to pass extended background check for unescorted access to Nuclear power facilities.
  • Ability to access tight confined spaces and work in small spaces for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge related to the inspection of turbine and generator components.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills associated with repair and diagnosis of electro-mechanical equipment, video equipment, and computer systems.
  • Ability to understand and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • CAD experience.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Prior experience with Siemens Field Service.
  • Lean or Six Sigma process improvement training/skills.
