Aerospace Retrofit Coordination Specialist Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Retrofit Coordination Specialist to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating retrofit programs, ensuring timely and efficient implementation of modifications and upgrades. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish Program Criteria: Develop program criteria on the front end to reach the desired implementation strategy.
- Create and Present Updates: Create and present retrofit program updates to RQAAT management.
- Interface with Department Management: Interface with department management to status, forecast, and build retrofit recovery plans.
- Work with Customers and Cross-Site Managers: Work directly with the customer and cross-site managers to ensure applicable retrofits, modifications, repairs, and enhancements are in compliance.
- Develop Processes and Procedures: Develop processes and procedures to optimize operational decision-making and performance to effect cost reductions.
- Create and Administer Schedules: Create and administer retrofit program schedules, including mitigation plans for approved scheduling and maintenance efforts.
- Support Program Managers: Support Program Managers with In-Service Evaluations (ISE) for performance evaluations.
- Provide Guidance to Team Members: Provide guidance to Retrofit Coordinators in problematic situations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist Department Management: Assist department management with reporting responsibilities.
- Serve as Backup to Retrofit Program Manager: Serve as a backup to Retrofit Program Manager with retrofit program reporting.
- Coordinate with Suppliers and Cross-Functional Teams: Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional support teams to schedule and coordinate implementation of modifications, upgrades, and improvements.
- Support Program-Related Travel: Support program-related travel.
Requirements:
- Extensive Familiarity with Aircraft System Operations: Extensive familiarity with aircraft system operations, FAA regulations, and foreign certification requirements.
- Proficient with Reading Blueprints: Proficient with reading and understanding usage of blueprints.
- Gulfstream Aircraft Systems Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of Gulfstream aircraft systems operations/functions and customer support requirements.
- Computer Proficiency: Must have a high level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Lotus Notes.
- Minimum 5 Years Experience: Minimum five (5) years experience with major project/program management with demonstrated performance.
- Analytical and Mathematical Skills: Demonstrates analytical and mathematical skills.
- Adaptability: Must be able to quickly adjust to fast-changing conditions in order to analyze program schedule impacts, identify problematic issues, and create a mitigation plan in order to keep fleet retrofit implementations on track and on budget to effectively attain dispatch reliability and availability goals.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Performs duties with good problem-solving, follow-up, and customer relations skills based on mature judgment, initiative, and strong organizational, administrative, business, and analytical skills. Must possess exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of management.
- Problem Resolution: Must be able to diagnose and resolve complex problems under difficult situations with the ability to deliver unpopular decisions to the customer in a tactful and professional manner.
