Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery and mechanical systems, including engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor mechanical systems in operation and listen for unusual sounds to identify issues.
- Dismantle machinery to access and replace faulty components, assessing parts for wear and damage.
- Evaluate used components to ensure they meet dimensional specifications.
- Adjust operational parts and control instruments to maintain optimal performance.
- Repair or substitute defective components and perform necessary lubrication and cleaning in line with quality system standards.
- Install specialized functional and structural components and conduct performance tests on machinery.
- Commit to continuous learning and skill enhancement, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and involve relevant stakeholders in decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of work.
- Initiate purchase orders for necessary parts and equipment.
- Operate within budgetary constraints and utilize organizational resources efficiently.
- Adhere to established policies and safety protocols, reporting any unsafe conditions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic counts as required.
- Possess a personal set of basic tools, including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and hammers.
Supervisory Role:
This position does not involve direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must effectively perform essential duties. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
Education and Experience:
A one-year certificate from a technical institution or two to three years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
Basic computer and keyboarding skills are essential, along with proficiency in Inventory and Maintenance Software. Experience with PLC systems is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
While performing job duties, employees are frequently required to sit, use hands, reach, and communicate. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds are also necessary. Specific vision capabilities include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
Employees may occasionally work in wet or humid conditions. The noise level is typically moderate, but may increase in production areas where hearing protection is necessary.
