Job Summary

Socotec is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasonic Inspection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) department, you will be responsible for performing ultrasonic shear-wave testing and/or Visual Testing (VT) as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examination and Testing: Perform examinations of materials in accordance with procedures, codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Guidance and Training: Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified, and exercise assigned responsibility for On-the-Job Training (OJT) and guidance of trainees.
  • Client Interface: Interface with department managers and clients to determine scope of work and work priorities to meet customer expectations.
  • Result Reporting: Be able to organize and report the results of examinations.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Work independently and support team members. Perform other job-related tasks as needed and assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
  • NDT Level II UT Shear-wave Certification: NDT Level II UT Shear-wave certification is required.
  • Additional Certifications: Any of the following certifications are a plus: NDT Level II LPA/MT/PT/VT/CWI/API.
  • Education and Experience: Meet the minimum requirements of an NDT Level II Technician; provide documentation of education, training, and experience in the applicable UT method.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection. Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc. Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc. Work in around operating equipment and industrial environments. Work with hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, etc. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
