About the Role

Campus Enterprises, a division of NC State University, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant Manager to join our team. As a Student Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the operations of our coffeeshops, ensuring exceptional customer service, and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Coffeeshop Teams: Supervise and train a team of student employees, including baristas and lead baristas, to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service.
  • Operational Management: Manage coffeeshop operations, including registers, opening and closing procedures, and inventory management.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and coaching to student employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Special Projects: Collaborate with the General Manager and Student Managers on special projects to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Daily Operations: Assist with daily operations, including serving food items, maintaining temperature and sanitation, and contributing to a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.
Requirements
  • Current NC State University Student: Must be a current student with a flexible schedule.
  • Leadership Ability: Demonstrated leadership ability from past work or extracurricular experience.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to give clear and concise instructions and communicate effectively with diverse supervisors, peers, and customers.
  • Teamwork and Motivation: Ability to train, coach, lead, and motivate team members effectively to create a positive and productive work environment.
  • Time Management: Work with a sense of urgency and be timely.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cross-Training: Cross-trained in all functions of a barista through previous experience.
  • Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to professional development, such as participation in Customer Relations Certificate or Leadership Intensive.
