Job Title: Medical Services Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Services Coordinator. This role is responsible for welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient information, while maximizing patient satisfaction and provider efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the phone; answer or refer inquiries
  • Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by checking in patients in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate patient records by obtaining, recording, and updating demographic and financial information
  • Schedule patient appointments at the end of each visit
  • Maintain open communication with pre-certification teams regarding orders for daily patients
  • Track and follow up with patient cancellations and no-shows
  • Perform daily audits of assigned tasks
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information via electronic medical records
  • FOLLOW UP ON OUTPATIENT REFERRALS AND SURGICAL REFERRALS
  • Provide patients with printed appointment confirmations
Requirements:
  • HIPAA and OSHA compliance; maintain a safe work environment at all times
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, insurance companies, and others
  • Caring demeanor toward patients and colleagues
  • Clinical knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of computers, fax machines, copiers, and other technology
  • Strong understanding of electronic medical records software
  • Prior experience as a medical receptionist, preferably in an orthopedic setting is a plus
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail in accuracy
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Work Environment:

This role will work in office spaces and commercial buildings. Ortho Sport and Spine Physicians are not subject to inclement weather or outdoor work.

$45,000 - $60,000 per year
