Job Title: Principal IaC Automation Engineer
Role Overview: In the capacity of a Principal IaC Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in architecting, developing, and executing the infrastructure necessary for automating the deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be vital to ensure effective and dependable infrastructure management through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with software development and operations teams to establish IaC requirements and industry best practices.
- Design, develop, and sustain Ansible playbooks and roles for the provisioning and administration of infrastructure components.
- Automate the deployment, configuration, and scaling of servers, networks, databases, and additional resources.
- Maintain consistency and reliability by treating infrastructure as code and managing configuration versions.
- Incorporate security best practices within the IaC framework.
- Enhance resource utilization and cost efficiency by automating the creation and decommissioning of environments.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related challenges.
- Guide junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in infrastructure automation, DevOps, or similar roles.
- Expertise in Ansible and other IaC tools.
- Strong scripting capabilities (Python, Bash, etc.).
- Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are advantageous.
