Job Summary

Viega GmbH & Co. KG is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of customer orders, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine daily work schedule and receive direction from Lead Team Member and Supervisor.
  • Unload shipments from trucks, read labels, and combine shipments into individual pallets based on product and ship ID numbers.
  • Confirm order quantities with packing lists and input information into SAP utilizing Viad@t.
  • Transport pallets from receiving and production areas to designated storage and staging locations using a forklift or reach truck.
  • Identify products and containers for replenishment, scan containers, and transport pallets to designated storage locations.
  • Pick inventory, place in containers, and transport to packing lanes, verifying quantity matches with scanner instructions.
  • Label containers to create final shipping units, confirm into SAP utilizing Viad@t, and transport to designated shipping areas.
  • Scans and picks coils and fittings using an order picker according to customer orders.
  • Pick and label straight lengths, transport to shipping docks using a forklift.
  • Scan pallets and inventory into receiving to determine where products are to be stored and transport product accordingly using a forklift or reach truck.
  • Receive returns, verify quantities match with documentation, confirm items in SAP utilizing Viad@t, and update and make notes as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and perform 5S activities to organize and manage the distribution center.
  • Answer questions and assist DC Team Member I and II as needed.

Requirements

  • Accurate counting and math skills.
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook, as well as SAP.
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to read and understand information presented.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy or bulky items weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with.
  • Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 - 17 months of related experience.
  • Warehouse Management Systems experience preferred.
  • Lean experience preferred.
