Job Summary

As a Truck Driver - CDL A - Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for making deliveries to customer job sites while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety procedures. You will load inventory on your truck and unload at the customer site. You will operate trucks to pick up and deliver products, supplies, and equipment to and from the organization, supplier, and customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver products to customers, which may include assistance with unloading, ensuring delivery of tickets with material, etc. Serve as the primary interface with the customer at the point of delivery. Contact customers if they are not present at the delivery location.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and McPherson policies and procedures. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after the route. Fuel the truck as needed.
  • Comply with all DOT standards and regulations. Maintain records such as vehicle logs and bills of lading in accordance with guidelines.
  • Ensure that manifests are complete and accurate.
  • Load the truck with daily deliveries. Unload product at the customer's site.
  • Resolve customer service issues.
  • Plan the route to and from customers' businesses and adjust for traffic and/or construction.
  • May assist warehouse staff with pulling and preparing orders for shipment, as well as receiving, verifying, staging, and stocking all incoming material.

Requirements

  • 1 year of commercial driving experience compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations.
  • Must be twenty-one years of age.
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state in which the candidate resides with all the relevant endorsements required for the type of equipment being operated (i.e., HazMat to transport hazardous materials that require placarding).
