RN Charge Nurse

Position Overview:
The RN Charge Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care that enhances the overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents, as guided by thorough assessments and personalized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular rounds to observe, assess, document, and communicate any changes in resident conditions.
2. Ensure the effective execution of care plans as specified.
3. Administer prescribed medications accurately and timely.
4. Collaborate with physicians during rounds and maintain accurate clinical records of visits.
5. Perform narcotic reconciliations during shift transitions.
6. Identify and respond to significant changes in residents' health, adhering to facility protocols.
7. Supervise and support nursing aides in their duties.
8. Complete Incident and Accident Reports in accordance with facility guidelines.
9. Manage resident discharges following established policies.
10. Conduct Nursing Assessments prior to contacting physicians regarding any changes in resident conditions.
11. Maintain open communication with residents' points of contact regarding their status and any changes in health.

Additional Responsibilities:
Other special projects or tasks may be assigned by the Director of Nurses or the Administrator as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited RN program.
  • Licensure: Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in Texas, in good standing.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
