Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to conduct ultrasound scans, review patient history, and provide exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts scanning process using ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings to produce optimal images
- Reviews patient history and clinical data to ensure accurate diagnostic results
- Explains procedures to patients, ensuring their cooperation and understanding
- Selects appropriate transducers for optimal results
- Positions patients for optimal imaging
- Reschedules exams as necessary due to poor preparation or other issues
- Quality controls images and ensures they are transferred to PACS for radiologist interpretation
- Assembles diagnostic images and information for radiologist review
- Assists physicians with interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
- RDMS-registered diagnostic medical sonographer (AB certification required)
- Successful completion of a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program or meets ARDMS education pre-requisites
- Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ultrasound physics
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and recognize emergency situations
