The Library Operations Guest Services Desk is seeking a student to join their team of professionals. This position will assist in staffing the Green Library's service desk in the second floor main entrance.
Key Responsibilities- Creates guest passes using the online operating system for visitors and FIU affiliates as needed.
- Assists guests with general questions, provides information and direction.
- Remain alert to activity at turnstiles.
- Monitor for any violations of turnstiles rules.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of PC operations and software.
- Possess a high sense of responsibility and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships and work well in a team environment.
- Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
- Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
