Job Summary:

Smith & Nephew is seeking a highly skilled Medical Logistician to join our team. As a key member of our Logistics Team, you will provide logistical support to our Sales Representatives and deliver exceptional customer service to hospital staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide logistical support to Sales Representatives, including product delivery, Central Processing check-in, re-stocking, and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Communicate and coordinate pickup and delivery activity for local shipments with OSC I, OSC II, Supervisor, and Sales Representative personnel.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritize local pickups and deliveries based on time-sensitivity and distances to be traveled.
  • Perform pickups and deliveries to Surgeon customers, hospitals, clinics, airport, bus station, post offices, and local vendors.
  • Re-set instrument trays for office sets and work with CPD staff to locate missing instrumentation post-surgery.
  • Record daily delivery information on a delivery log, including mileage driven, number of stops, time per stop, fuel/maintenance purchases.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of existing products and new product introductions to effectively function in the field.
  • Proactively identify errors and omissions in deliveries/pickups to eliminate redundancy in required stops.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with Office Staff, Sales Representatives, and third-party end-users.
  • Field customer complaints and communicate them as necessary to OSC staff.
  • Assist OSC staff and Inventory Specialist in analyzing and deciding the best options for local delivery based on time, cost, and vehicle availability.
  • Communicate with office staff and/or the sales force when changes from original flight plans become necessary due to weather, mechanical failure, or flight cancellations.
  • Route shipments via the most appropriate method and confirm updated delivery information.
  • Carry a cellular phone and required tracking device at all times to communicate effectively regarding pickups and deliveries.
  • Prepare and transport hazardous materials as required, including packaging and preparation of shipping documents.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of college with classes in operations, customer service, or distribution.
  • Four-year Bachelor's Degree preferred.
