Job Summary

Averro is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join their team in the aerospace and defense industry. As a technical lead, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of various projects, working closely with engineering personnel to develop and validate products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop product designs using solid modeling and CAD software.
  • Create electronic drawings using CAD and modeling programs with appropriate dimensional drawings including GD&T.
  • Prepare equipment or material specifications.
  • Research and analyze data to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Conduct research and testing to analyze the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Maintain proper documentation in accordance with general manufacturing standards, customer specifications, and policies.
  • Read and interpret customer and industry specifications.
  • Develop documents that drive the manufacturing process, including drawings, models, assemblies, and more.
  • Support all company facilities in design, analysis, and testing related to existing product lines or the development of new derivative products.
  • Take on the technical lead role in the mechanical design of various simultaneous projects and be involved in the entire product design and validation process.
  • Design and develop manufacturing methods, tooling, and processes.
  • Report any machine or process challenges and hazardous conditions to a supervisor or manager.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, and be detail-oriented.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 3-5 years of prior experience in a related field, industry, or work environment.
  • Skilled knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar programs.
