Job Summary

Stamford Health is seeking a skilled Admission/Discharge Registered Nurse to support our hospital throughput and patient safety initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a timely and thorough admission process, providing excellent patient-centered care, and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to requests for admission/discharge assistance in various hospital departments.
  • Collaborate with staff nurses to facilitate patient procedures, such as phlebotomy, IV initiation, and discontinuation, related to the admission/discharge process.
  • Supervise non-RN personnel and serve as a resource for ancillary staff on assigned units.
  • Assume charge role and oversee unit activities as needed.
  • Act as a preceptor for new staff and students, providing guidance and support in their development.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Valid license as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.

Schedule: Full-time, 4 10-hour shifts per week, 9am-7pm, with weekend rotation required.
