Job Title: Registered Nurse - Observation Unit

Stamford Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Observation Unit team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility, providing care to patients with a variety of conditions, including chest pain, congestive heart failure, syncope, and abdominal-gastrointestinal conditions. You will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement patient care, and to develop and communicate patient plans of care.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess patient's physical and psychosocial condition throughout the continuum of care.
  2. Develop and communicate patient's plan of care reflecting patient issues and proposed interventions to achieve desired patient outcome.
  3. Communicate effectively with all members of the health care team and related departments to provide accurate information about the care of the patients.
  4. Practices the 5 rights to patient safety when administering medications, blood or blood products and treatments (right patient, right medication, right route, right dose, right time).
  5. Responds to crisis in a calm, efficient manner, directing others concisely.
  6. Evaluates patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge and/or continuing care.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in nursing or higher.
  • Connecticut RN license
  • BLS Certificate
  • ACLS Certificate
