Job Title: Buyer (PET)

Refresco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Buyer (PET) to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting supply chain strategic initiatives within the direct categories through supplier performance and spend analysis, effective supplier negotiations, identification of cost-saving opportunities, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integrate direct procurement activities through Refresco by proactive identification of new sourcing opportunities, leveraging knowledge of suppliers, supply chain teams, and other procurement category managers.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to each direct spend category.
  • Manage direct supplier relationships, including supplier scorecards, monitoring contract terms and conditions, contract amendments, and resolving supplier issues as needed.
  • Aid in identifying vendors to procure commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and delivery date, and place contracts.
  • Maintain communications with supply sources, follow up with daily activities, and assist category managers.
  • Interview sales representatives to develop new sources of supplies, securing favorable terms for Refresco, and update records and files.
  • Interpret and communicate purchasing procedures to departments, assist departments in initiating new supplier requisitions, and solve problems with orders.
  • Assist in resolving purchasing problems between plant and suppliers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field required; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of the appropriate degree.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of procurement experience preferably in food/beverage manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
  • Skill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications and bids.
  • Solid Technical and Analytical Skills.
  • Be a problem solver.
  • Solid Project Management skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with different levels of the organization.
  • Must understand 'Total Cost Value' concepts.
  • Must be able to set up processes that monitor project progress and completion rates.
  • Must be able to work independently and handle multiple work assignments.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet application.
  • Hands-on execution and be a change 'leader'.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
