Job Summary

Capital University seeks a highly motivated and experienced Community Coordinator to join our Residential & Commuter Life team. This is a full-time, on-site position that requires a strong commitment to student learning and success. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other campus departments to promote student engagement and maximize the impact of the residential and commuter experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal and academic support to students, including conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate student staff, including Resident Assistants and Commuter Student Assistants.
  • Adjudicate student conduct incidents and implement appropriate sanctions.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide leadership during emergency or crisis situations.
  • Manage Student Success cases for assigned student population and support students experiencing barriers to success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with one year of related work experience in Student Affairs or a related field.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related area.
  • One or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work with multiple campus constituents.
