FleetPride Diesel Technician II Job Description

FleetPride is the leading distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts in the U.S., seeking a skilled Diesel Technician II to join our team.

Job Summary

The Diesel Technician II will be responsible for performing advanced repairs and maintenance on class 7 & 8 trucks and 53' trailers, with a focus on preventative maintenance and diagnostic operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction
  • Provide customers with preventative maintenance solutions
  • Maintain 80% productivity
  • Prevent comebacks
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes
  • Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems, electrical systems, and exhaust systems
  • Adjust, remove and replace clutches and drivelines
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel tanks, fifth wheels, and trailer hitches
  • Perform tandem alignment, front axle king pin and bushing repairs
  • Perform basic aluminum and steel wire welding
  • Utilize machinery to repair or fabricate driveshafts
  • File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, and trim to gain access to vehicle bodies and fenders
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements
  • Diesel Technology Associate's degree
  • 3+ years of experience with class 7 & 8 trucks
  • Experience repairing 53' trailers
  • Airbrake certification
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
Working Conditions

The Diesel Technician II will work in a non-climate controlled shop environment, with a focus on maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
