Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Freightliner Northwest. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy-duty equipment.
Responsibilities:- Run diagnostic tests and analyze results to identify issues with diesel engines and other heavy-duty equipment.
- Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Develop technical skills through training opportunities and stay up-to-date with the latest industry technologies.
- Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the shop and maintain a safe working environment.
- Heavy equipment dealership experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read schematics for electrical and air systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Competitive hourly compensation ($20.00 to $50.00) based on level of skill and experience.
- Night shift, weekend shift, and lead/mentor differential pay available.
