Job Summary

As a Phlebotomist with Catholic Health Initiatives, you will play a vital role in the laboratory team, responsible for collecting blood samples and other specimen samples from patients. You will ensure accurate identification of patients, label specimens according to lab policy, and transport them to the laboratory for analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices when interacting with patients and performing phlebotomy.
  • Behave in a professional, collaborative, and supportive manner, recognizing and respecting religious and cultural differences.
  • Perform urine drug collections for toxicology and maintain daily instrument calibration and quality control of CLIA waived testing.
  • Understand pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes for CLIA waived testing and evaluate and interpret results, entering them into the Laboratory Information System.
  • Organize and stock phlebotomy carts, use appropriate methods and supplies for drawing blood based on patient age and condition, and perform general duties such as filing, ordering supplies, and packaging reference specimens.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and complete organizational requirements, attending mandatory meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform essential functions as per ADA position analysis and complete other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Phlebotomy experience necessary.
  • Legible writing and computer skills essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of work-related experience.

Compensation
$23.37 per hour.
