Dynamic Physical Therapist with Patient-Centered Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist III to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a valuable member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality medical services.
About the Role
This is an inpatient acute care hospital position that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working with patients from diverse backgrounds. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and provide individualized physical therapy programs for inpatients and outpatients, incorporating various modalities and techniques to promote optimal recovery and rehabilitation.
- Conduct thorough assessments, evaluations, and treatments to address a range of conditions, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular disorders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, evidence-based practices, and industry developments to deliver cutting-edge care and contribute to the advancement of physical therapy.
- Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent qualifications.
- New York State Physical Therapy Licensure/Registration or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Demonstrated experience working in an acute care hospital setting, preferably with pediatric or hand rehabilitation expertise.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
