Job Summary

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is seeking a skilled IT Support Analyst II to provide technical assistance and support for computer systems and hardware at various District facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level support for software and hardware issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems.
  • Offer technical guidance and informal training to customers on computer hardware and software programs.
  • Analyze and diagnose equipment problems, restoring service using established processes and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge databases and call tracking systems to enhance problem resolution quality.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment, sharing information and assisting others with technical issues.
  • Recommend and provide training for staff and end-users on standard software applications.

Additional Requirements

  • Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, and three years of experience supporting computer applications and hardware.
  • Alternatively, a four-year accredited college or university degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field may substitute for the required experience.
  • ITIL Foundations certification may also be substituted for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of service with the District as an IT Support Analyst I or Systems Support Specialist II.
  • Civil service status in one of the foregoing classifications.
