Job Title: Warehouse Manager Snack Food Mfg

Shearer's Foods is a leading contract manufacturer and private label supplier in the snack industry in North America. We are known for producing high-quality snacks in assorted flavors and sizes, including kettle cooked potato chips, traditional potato chips, tortilla chips, cheese curls, and other extruded snacks, as well as cookies, crackers, and wafers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of materials management, including inventory control, inbound receiving, outbound shipments, intercompany shipments, and in-house material control.
  • Ensure on-time, in-full delivery of finished goods and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer service levels, stock turn, working capital, labor costs, and other operational/financial targets.
  • Oversee the physical warehouse and truck yard, including employee management and equipment maintenance.
Departmental Responsibilities:
  • Develop and achieve annual budgets through the implementation of sound budgeting and variance management.
  • Ensure the execution of company standards and best practices through team development and metrics-based performance measurement.
  • Manage the performance and development of direct reports, establishing clear and measurable objectives.
  • Develop colleagues to ensure succession plans are achieved, behaviors align with corporate values, and leadership imperatives are developed.
  • Collaborate with talent acquisition to recruit high-caliber talent and create a workplace that sustains employee morale, commitment, and retention.
  • Ensure safety is a priority for all departmental personnel and processes, and compliance with employee and food safety regulations.
Planning & Procurement:
  • Own the product flow into the facility, including vendor and corporate functional communication and coordination.
  • Assist with new products/projects communication and coordination for the site.
  • Manage bulk ordering, material release, and invoice approval.
  • Manage inventory levels to achieve case fill rate goals at the lowest working capital.
  • Accountable for SC KPIs DOH inventory levels of raw materials to meet financial targets.
  • Collaborate with centralized planning and plant teams to meet food safety, service, equipment reliability, and labor cost metrics.
Inventory Control Quality Assurance (ICQA):
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, rotation, and movement procedures within the entire site.
  • Ensure inventory quality/accuracy programs are in place and executed per Shearer's requirements.
  • Facilitate and/or execute month-end and year-end physical inventory counts.
Inbound/Outbound Logistics:
  • Execute network standard process, including full utilization of a warehouse management system to reduce waste and develop consistent work processes and standard work for all key functions of the operation.
  • Ensure products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, and received in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Develop labor planning to execute load schedule safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
  • 5+ years in a warehousing/distribution management environment experience in an FDA-regulated facility preferred, with credibility in safety, operations, and facilities management.
  • Expertise in inventory control and order fulfillment quality standards and metrics, including customer order fill rates, inventory turnover, excess and short-dated inventory management, and forecast accuracy.
  • Strong project management skills, including stakeholder, timeline, and meeting management skills; demonstrated excellence in managing internal customers.
  • Excellent skills in organization and leadership.
  • Fully competent and knowledgeable on WMS and TMS applications in a GMP manufacturing environment.
